Why ResuMate?

Job search has enough guesswork already.

Mystery AI rewrites

You never know what changed or why.

Keywords you can't defend

They might sound good on paper.

They won't help when someone asks, “Tell me about that.”

Scores without explanations

A number isn't insight.

It's just another guess.

So we built ResuMate differently.

  • We show you why you match.
  • We show what's already there but buried.
  • We show what's missing and where the gap actually is.
  • We improve what you can genuinely support.
  • We explain every meaningful change.
  • And we help you prepare to talk about your experience.

We don't invent. We elevate.

Why we built this

It started with someone I love.

My wife spent sixteen years building a career. She was good at it, too. Then the role became “redundant,” and it was gone. That was it – it felt like the end of an era, and she had to start again: looking for companies, searching roles, and sending years of real experience into forms that never seemed to read it properly.

I watched someone with genuine, hard-won experience get reduced to a score she couldn’t understand and couldn’t argue with.

I’d spent years as a Product Owner, so I did the thing product people do when something feels broken: I started building.

So I built it, as an internal helping tool. Then I had another idea. And another. And another. Until I realized I actually had an end-to-end product offering job applicants real help, not just another “AI-slop-machine.” 😊

I realized that:

The experience was there.
It just wasn’t coming through.

The more I looked, the clearer it became. The problem was rarely that the experience was missing. It was there. It was buried under job titles and hidden behind phrases like “responsible for.” On paper it read like everyone else’s CV, even when the person behind it was anything but ordinary.

That led to the one rule ResuMate is built on: we don’t invent a better version of you, we take the real one and help it come through clearly.

We don’t invent. We elevate.

It would be easier to tell everyone they’re a perfect fit. Easier, and useless. If a rewrite can’t survive a real conversation in the interview, it becomes a problem you meet later, across a desk, when someone asks you to explain it.

So ResuMate tells you the truth about where you stand:

  • Sometimes that truth is “you’re closer than you think.”
  • Sometimes it’s “this role isn’t the one, and here’s why you keep getting filtered out.”
  • Both are more useful than flattery, and both respect your time.

Behind every CV is a person having one of the harder weeks of their working life. That person deserves clarity, not a slot machine of credits and scores, or monthly subscriptions built to keep them paying.

That is why the pricing was the last component I built. That is also why we left the “Match your CV with the job” open: no registration, no payment. At least you know where you stand and what we recommend doing to close that gap (if there’s any gap at all). We earn something when the product genuinely helps, and that is the only way we want to earn it.

That is the whole idea. A tool that treats you as the capable person you already are, and helps that person be seen.

Thanks for reading this far.

FAQ

Quick answers.

Is the match score an ATS pass probability?

No. An 86/100 isn't an 86% chance of passing an ATS or landing an interview. It's a match score: how closely your experience lines up with this specific role, and which signals moved it up or down.

Does ResuMate invent experience or skills?

No. It strengthens and surfaces what's already in your background, so you can stand behind every line in your application and in the interview. We don't invent. We elevate.

Does ResuMate store my resume?

Yes. We securely store your resumes, analyses, cover letters, and interview sessions in your dashboard so you can revisit, and reuse them later.

Everything is deleted automatically after 24 months of inactivity, or instantly when you delete your account from Settings › Privacy.

Will my rewrite sound generic?

No. We only change lines tied to a specific weak spot, and every change is labelled with why.

Once I've paid, can I keep editing and re-download my CV?

Yes. Your unlock is a one-time payment: come back a week or a month later and you can switch templates and export a fresh PDF as many times as you like, at no extra cost. Plenty of tools ask you to buy the download. We don't — what you make is yours to edit and keep.

Which file types work?

PDF or DOCX up to 5 MB, or paste the text directly. Job postings can also be fetched by URL — LinkedIn included — but resumes can't be: LinkedIn's terms block automated profile access, so upload or paste yours.

What languages are supported?

Currently English only. We're building a localization engine that goes beyond translation — it will also adapt your CV to the conventions expected in each target market.

Can I delete my account?

Yes — go to Settings › Privacy to delete your account and all associated data with one click.

See how your experience matches the role – in ~30 seconds.

Then walk into the interview knowing exactly why you fit.
